The last 12 months

The regular gigs have continued. Another year has passed and with Steve Mac I still host the open mic at The Tudor Barn (last Sunday of the month). In the early summer I started a Wednesday night residency at Rixos (a large new Turkish Bar & Grill). It started off as a “quite night” restaurant gig but has turned into a really pleasurable great evening. The place is buzzing with nice people. One of the nicest things about being a singer is that new opportunities are always waiting for you to find them, so to receive a regular monthly gig list please send me your e-mail (on the contact page) .

Meantime is a band that Phil Veacock (saxophonist) and I formed to offer clients a “complete service”. We perform as trio with Dominic Ashworth (guitarist), however, (dependent upon requirements), we increase the size of the band to the full 9 piece. The band are all A list musicians and are happy performing Jazz, Retro Jukebox style Pop, Soul & Party music. To see our new promotional videos visit the Jazz page , or the Soul & Party page .

Steve Mac and I have been performing as a duo for many years but we are now performing under the name of “Unplugged”. Our performance covers Rock, Soul, Pop and Blues classics arranged for acoustic guitars and vocal harmonies. You can see and hear more on the Acoustic & Pop page.

Singing with Bands and as a Dep.

I continue to work with many bands as a dep. From Big Bands to trios. Some of the bands have a regular need for a dep so I see them quite often, some are less frequent. In the last year two of the bands I have depped with have asked me to take on the role of permanent singer, so I am very pleased to announce that I now sing with Jane Milne-Home fronting “Cheques In The Post”, a fabulous 7 piece Soul/Pop function band. I have also become front-man for “Mike Richard’s Firebird” (14 piece function band). Check out the media of me performing with these three bands.

My blog identity is “Tobias A Hogg”. If you would like to see the blog “Singersbitz” click here.
